Improvisation and creation are major aspects of contemporary dance. There are so many possibilities in contemporary dance that there are many different kinds. From one class to another, they can be completely different in style and technique. Freedom is a central issue.

Each teacher has his or her own style and teaching style. Each teacher will teach warm-up, technique, choreographic sequence, improvisation, discovery and all that; to music that speaks to him or her.
